Becoming Catholic (RCIA)

Becoming Catholic or RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is a discernment and
conversion process by which adults enter the Catholic Church, or complete  the sacraments of Initiation.

RCIA is a process for those interested in learning about Catholicism with a desire to become Catholic.  It is our greatest joy as well as our baptismal duty as a Catholic community to continually welcome new members and instruct them in the ways of Catholic Christian discipleship.  All adults who are not baptized, or those baptized in other Christian traditions or those never fully initiated in the Catholic Church are invited to participate.
The RCIA  process starts with a period of inquiry into the faith.  Participants are invited to broaden and deepen their relationship with God through prayer, scripture study, reflection and sessions on our rich Catholic faith and tradition.

The parish celebrates the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist) at the Easter Vigil for those who are prepared and desire to become Catholic.
