The Basilica of St. Paul parish is a multicultural and multi-ethnic community. A vibrant part of our parish life is our Filipino community. The community gathers for liturgical and cultural events throughout the year. The group is connected with a network of other Filipino groups throughout the Diocese of Orlando.
Just prior to Christmas each year, the community celebrates the Simbang Gabi mass and reception. The Filipino booth at the Parish’s International Family Festival, held the third Sunday of each October, is one of the most popular attractions. Delicious traditional Filipino food is served. Annually each May, the community celebrates “Santacruzan,” or “May Flower Procession,” which honors the Blessed Virgin Mary with flowers, prayers, song, and veneration.
